The standard way of treating myopia is to go to an optometrist and get a prescription for corrective lenses.  When you do go to the optometrist, they do not tell you that there are a number of exercises you can do which help prevent and may even positively treat myopia.  Furthermore, they may even tell you that myopia is genetic and there is nothing you can do about it except keep coming to the optometrist as your eyesight slowly deteriorates, which it often does, because there is empirical evidence that wearing corrective lenses actually makes the myopia worse.

Investigation into natural cures for myopia began with Dr William A Bates.  Bates outlined a series of exercises as follows:

Palming: relax the eyes by holding the palm of the hands over them and releasing all tension

Focus on distant objects: regular focusing on distance objects helps to keep the eye muscles active.

Using lenses slightly less than your prescription
